Out of fear of death, he had come to the Three Coffins temple, in which it was said one could hide from the bloody bastard. The coffins were made of wood, stone, and the third was a diamond urn. Death found him while he was making his choice and, with a hatchet, crushed the wooden coffin down to splinters. The stone one met the same fate, under the blow of a sledgehammer. Having no choice, he let himself enveloped into Catharsis' flames and then slipped into the diamond urn. When Death managed to open the lid, the ashes were blown around by the Obscure's gasp of surprise.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
