When he hit her for the first time, I told her mommy, are you ok? she answered the following day, after she placed her mandibula back, made me breakfast as if nothing had happened, as if she didn't have her eyes like a panda's from the heavy blows, why is daddy so angry?, eh, he has his own problems, he hit me in the head with the chair because mommy got out of the way in time. When he hit her unconscious, it was after the end of the school year celebration, I had dressed up as a parrot and I was repeating No more, no more, no more.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
