Archimedes was making experiments for a new law. He rented a pool in Syracuse and called some of his friends. He had them get in and out of water, he noted the level of water at their coming in and out, he kept calculating and muttering under his breath: the volume of fluid displaced. Suddenly, he heard the splashing of water. Someone had gotten to the end of the pool at lighting-speed and was already out the door. Archimedes quickly opened the future section in Google Papirus at the section Future. Then he ran to the door of the pool and shouted: David, is that you?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
