I am 14 years old and I'm ugly. I don't remember the moment when the mirror started reflecting this ugly face, but I cannot look at it. I didn't look like this, everybody used to tell me, wow, what a beautiful girl. Stupid Teo told me that I have so many pimples that looks like a pizza. From then on I became Pizzaface. Pizzaface, give me the homework for Romanian class, Pizzaface, you have huge breasts, are you on your period? Sometimes I lock myself in the bathroom and cry. Everybody laughed at me today that I am drinking four spotted brothers tea, but they are in fact just three.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
