The giant ogre was lumbering with his nag feet, stepping on carts and carriages. The naughty dwarf's efforts to get out of his way seemed in vain, but he was not to be outdone. Perhaps he wasn't actually even running, but only advancing. Yes, you could see it in his smirk as he was shouting at the ogre: Hey big guy, I will grow up, but you're always going to stay small. He didn't get the point; he didn't understand much at all. When I grow up, I want to meet the genie of the lamp; I'm only going to ask him to make me small.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
