No one will marry such a lazy person as you. You know, marriage isn't a piece of cake. When I grow up, I won't want anyone, I will not tie the knot. You're mean when you say no. When I grow up, I'll earn the right not to feel terrible when I say no. You're a piece of shit. When I grow up, I'll try my best not to think about myself as a nobody. If it hadn't been for you, I would have been happy. When I grow up, I won't want anybody's help because I don't want to feel like I'm a burden to them. You know them there and you say no to them, day after day. You're a grown-up.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
