My wife left me. That's what she wrote to me in a text, but I think I have more. She also said that she would write on the divorce application at the notary's office that the reason was character incompatibility. I guess. I didn't have enough character left on the card I gave her for her birthday. Or maybe I'd gone over that 500 character per text limit too many times. All I know is that as time passes, I like those people who stick around. Or at least that's what it says on her Facebook cover these days. She must have got bored.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
