Such a big fuss in the block. Ol' Traian was ready and had taken out the ladder. There were 7 of us and we were all impatient to climb on the roof under the scrutinizing looks of our retired neighbour. I don't want to see you doing tricks. You'll sit nicely, put your glasses on, and when it's over, we'll go down, cause I received you in one piece from your parents and that's how I'll return you. Do I make myself clear? Old man, what are you talking about? We want to see the sun disappear and all getting dark. That night lasted for two minutes on that memorable midday. 11thof August 1999.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
