First, he took her ear lobe between his lips, and then he started nibbling at it, making her giggle as she was shivering near the fireplace where some wood sticks were gossiping, burning with envy. He started sniffing at her neck as if he were a baby mole ardently looking for her fresh milk oozing breast. The chocolate-vanilla smell was still floating in the room where she'd sworn to protect and support him until the end of time. That night she swore one more thing, as she had already done in the past - that her first born would rule the world.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
