So what's in for tonight? Sex. Ok. No, honey, we are making sarmale for tomorrow when your mother-in-low is coming. No problem, we can order some pizza, don't worry. Come here. Not tonight. Is it me or you don't seem to want me anymore? It's true, you're cheating on me. I knew it anyway, but I've been a good girl and didn't say a word. You're upsetting me, go in the kitchen. To do what? Sarmale, woman; remember why we are still together? That's it, for sex, that's what I'm saying. If you're good enough and make those sarmale, we'll go to bed for a couple of hours. I'm sure you won't forget this night.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2022, the group has 9,580 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
