I'm naked in a huge field of sunflowers, I don't know my name and what I'm there for. Being sick by yellow, I crash into the thoughts of a stained blue. And sprinkles from the sky are mixed homogeneously with the sprinkles on the mirror of my soul. I blink often as if to ward off a ghost and the black in my eyes reminds me of whom I am. A big S on my chest and a cape hanging on a scarecrow tell me that I'm not home. I start scouring the earth to unearth what's left of the mother planet. I seek a message about green.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2022, the group has 9,580 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
