Father Agheasmie put out his cigarette and grabbed the class register. He was the only one in the office; the other teachers had gone to class. He took the bottle out of his bag and took a shot. He went out into the hallway. Two students from VIII B were waiting to see when he was coming for the Religion class. The father is coming, one of them shouted. Hey, muttered the father, it's time to go to class for fuck's sake. He entered the noisy classroom and slammed the register on the desk. Let me hear you, said His Holiness. Three lovely colours I hold dear in the world, they all began to sing in chorus.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2022, the group has 9,580 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
