and I mistake one for the other. Turquoise and magenta. In the dark I know them all. By heart. Including the colors of the rainbow but only when there are three. Orange because I am fond of orangeries, maroon because I was marooned once and green because I like green. You'd put me on the spot if I was colour blind and you would tell me to get you that colourful shirt from the wardrobe, it's fortunate I don't acknowledge orders. Today I'm ambitious and I'm going to put on a turquoise jacket just for the simple fact that I'm going on holiday to Turkey.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2022, the group has 9,580 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
