The year that has gone by her was really playing with her mind, avoiding her systematically, as in an imaginary roundabout. Swish, one day. Swish, swish, one week. Time was going by so fast that she was dizzy for months. At a rhythmic number of spins she received a punch in the gut and, fallen to her knees, she prayed she was one with the earth, that she didn't have enough power to get up. Swish, and the year was gone. Apart from that day, in which she looked at her soul with empty eyes and she understood that it was not time which was frozen, but that she was stuck in time. She would go on the right path. Confetti?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2022, the group has 9,580 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
