I'd been praying not to lose the last one too. I hadn't imagined at first that there would be seven in total. Some kind of eeny meeny miny moe for choosing the faith of unborn lives. When I played dice with God, He rolled one with 7 faces. Come on, Lord, don't give me that! What about you, son? What have you done with the other 5? And with the 8th one, which was planted in a different pot? You have given them to Luci, making him cry too. I have given you a life with an Apgar score of 9. Did you think you were the Creator? Take that! I'm throwing this one with a flick of the wrist, but my hand will slip a little, at one of your legs.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2022, the group has 9,580 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
