I can't resist him; I've never loved anyone as much as I love him. He's gorgeous and cute and loving, and his skin smells divine. He does nothing around the house; I do everything even though he doesn't appreciate my efforts at all. When he's in a mood, we don't get along; if he gets upset, he doesn't talk to me. He always wants me to indulge him and I'm at his beck and call all the time. I love him enormously, but I feel I can't do it anymore. He bosses me around about everything. I've tried talking to friends and family about our problems, but they always make excuses for him: be patient, he's only 6 months old.
She began to pay close attention to him after accidentally touching his hand during the meeting and it suddenly feeling so cold she expected it to crack and fall into a thousand pieces. The fact that the boss had a slight lisp made him more appealing. And his eyes sometimes seemed like bottomless waters. She followed his awkward, more gliding gait up to the bridge. In the beam of a single ray, he dropped his bag, leisurely unbuttoned his blazer and shirt, remaining in a shiny snake skin, illuminating her mind and heart.
The bomb had left a crater behind. On the site of the house, a pile of burnt wood. Of the outbuildings, only the toilet was left standing. Yo, Serj, get your ass over here. Serj shook off the ashes and walked to the back of the yard. I've been defeated, boy, get me a newspaper or something. I don't have any, it's all burnt. Damn that cursed candle, I'd use these pants, but I don't have another pair. Serj glanced over the smoking piles and spied a magazine that had escaped the fire. The glossy skin of ebony legs peeped out from between the pages. Take Naomi, boss, for good luck.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In July 2023, the group has 11,540 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
