Say, boss, should I make you an avatar? We're making a site like this, you know, only fans, but made by that artificial intelligence. You give us your pictures and stories, we make you famous. It's not about sex and all that. It's for serious folks. That's why they want to be talking too. You'll be a virtual, fake, lady companion. Not in the flesh. But you'll still be the boss. We've overcome our condition ourselves. We're no longer pimps. We asked ChatGTP about our future and it made stuff clear. I didn't understand what it said, but, eh, whatever.
I don't get it, I really don't get you. Why do you bother to peel, then chop up that joke of an onion and cry as if you were morning all the departed of your bloodline. Because you don't know its benefits. Do you have internet? Look it up. Because a bowl of polenta with cheese, be it a squashed one, brought smiles to children in times of famine. Because for a rotten onion, the Communists would lock you up. Because after so many years of hard work, today you mind your pension and the price. Because at the expense of so many bitter tears, you have no skin in the game and you're the boss. That's why.

Rolls of skin clad his tanned nape. He moved uneasily because of the belly from the soup he ate for breakfast. He burped softly, which instantly relived him. His eyes twinkled of newly deciphered meaning. Howdy, waiter what u got for the second course? The waiter stuttered and shyly recommended a meat stew or a plate of cabbage rolls. Bring out some sausages and be quick about it \'cause is why you is hired fo'. The young waiter took his order, went into the cloakroom and put on an apron. Instead of sausages, he served harmaline. Boss, you is fo'nothing.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In July 2023, the group has 11,540 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
