Joițica, did ya hear that the end's coming? It says so in the gospel of that rich old guy, that the folks know from the internet. It says the robots will kill us, girl. That intelligence will turn against us. I may be stupid, but I think straight. They ain't even going to the toilet without apps. You know that Mitica of the Varzoaias fell in love with that know-it-all Alexa. He's marrying her, virtually. Some woman got married to a big shot. They say he's not a macho. But when that robot will get fed up by the naggin, it won't argue, it'll just pop.

In the beginning there was the word. He said it and it was made. God was surfing the waters. He said there isn't Light. It was made. With electricity. Then he said let there be batteries. He was misunderstood and so appeared bacteria. And those multiplied and became multi cellular, micro organisms, frog gies, fish es, am phibia, dino saurs, bird ies, mam mals, mon keys, homi nids. What God had made in millions of years they finished in 10k. ? Stone, brass, iron, powder, atom, neutron. God chose a bit ten one. You, let's change the planet.

I'm cautious. The desire to feel the vegetation around me touching my skin directly is big, but everything's poison. Thousands of years should pass before we could use it. The radar detects movement in the air. Distorted birds floating in formation immediately appear in the headgear's range. Creepy, some missing a leg, some with three or just frail growths, with floppy beaks, came to pollinate. No indication of wind. I arrived next to what was once SpaceX. As a space archaeologist, it's my dream to find Musk's skeleton.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In July 2023, the group has 11,540 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
