At home, he has a fridge full of such packages. Once a month, he invites his colleagues for a meal. No one makes tastier baloney than he does, smoked, with spices brought from exotic countries and fine wines.

A pink, fleshy slice. Then he waited patiently until dusk, when he caught his scent. He saw kim enter, and the cage's clamps snapped shut behind him. He watched him devour to survive, when in fact he was as good as dead. We'll have food for winter, he's a big man, the mouse told himself, giving a sly smile. He was well-adjusted, having survived five laboratories.
