She knew that what she was doing was not right, but she couldn't help it. She wanted to be better, she wanted to change, she wanted to be more caring and to be loved. She has gotten sick of hateful people. But from wanting it and doing it, it was a long way. She knew this also, so she began to pack, her luggage becoming heavier and heavier as she remembered stuff. She sat on the edge of the bed, struggled to close the luggage and pushed it under the bed. She ran her hand through her messy hair, she got up, she bit her upper lip, took the scythe and left.

That's it, I'm giving him up. All the cables in the house are gnawed, the sofa is ruined, he ate my most expensive shoes. At night, he only sleeps with his fangs stuck in my neck and looks like I've had a wild sex. The future owner looks like a homeless man and smells bad. The dog hid. Do you have money to buy him food? It's expensive because he has allergies. He will eat what I eat. I close the door, the furry one comes out, wags his tail, looks at me with wet eyes and kisses me. Oh, we'll be fine, Shiva.

He was born at the monastery, among the Jesuits. At the age of 13, he writes The Missionary's Role and Position in the Unseen World. He becomes a specialist in the art of the mastering of knowledge. Sent to Christianize hypothetical albino tribes in the Amazon, he wanders for decades through endless forests, he is cured of colds by a young native woman, learns the Tiriro language and picks up the habit of sharpening his teeth. He moves on to shamanism and meets God incarnated in a vegetal deity. He gets the gift of travelling in someone else's dreams. He ends up in the pot with goodies.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2024, the group has 13,230 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, Monica Aldea, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
