No one can live on the moon. The moon does not exist and neither the sun nor the stars. They are only satanic illusions that sinners and unbelievers have. Only spiritual wisdom shows us the truth from scripture. When God made the canvas of the sky and the light of heaven, there was only darkness on the earth. With His holy finger, God cut a large skylight, a smaller one, and created a multitude of tiny holes, and so the light of heaven illuminates us. We call the big hole the sun, the small hole the moon and the little holes the stars. Amen.

Yuka Brevi
I know the truth. It seems so absurd that no one believes it. The moon is inhabited. It is an artificial satellite, a kind of mountain cabin. On vacation, you go to relax. You have large windows, to see the forest, the animals, the clear river with hungry trouts. You watch, recharge your batteries, and then go back to your work. If you pay a good fortune, you are allowed to hunt or kidnap an earthling. How, how do I know? Well, I keep the reservations, online. Reptilians are the best customers. They are crazy about us.

Tomorrow will be the execution. They asked me what my last wish was. I've never wanted anything from life, what could I possibly want now at the end? Dammit, even tonight the moon is incredibly beautiful, as if to make trouble for me. It shines so brightly that even the lattices are no longer visible. If I had lived on the moon, I would surely have had a different life. And especially another death. Is that where souls go when they go away? Yes, now I know: My last wish is to leave this place as soon as possible.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2024, the group has 13,320 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, Monica Aldea, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
