It's night and I'm on duty. The weather hit her, saying it would be dark at night. I go on patrol and take the elevator to the top floor. In the elevator the lights flash and it shakes. But it still takes too long to climb. The doors finally open. I'm stuck, I've reached another planet. The elevator went up a bit. Several brown men are waving in front of me. They seem to be telling me something but I don't understand anything. A little green man appears and tells me that from now on we will collaborate every night.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
