You are such an idiot! I pulled the steering wheel involuntary and I almost switched lanes. Then again. You are such an idiot! I looked over my shoulder, the car was empty. Of course it was empty, I had just broken up with her. Well, technically speaking, she was the one who had broken up with me. She found out I was cheating on her. You are a big idiot! Hm. Who the hell could have spoken in an empty car? The voice of consciousness? The spirit in the lamp? Did I start hearing voices? You are an Idiot with capital i. I pull over and look in the back of the car again. From the rear window, the dog was nodding approvingly.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
