No, cause you lost your whole mind. And what fire are you exposing there? You, father, my brothers, all the young people, so the time wouldn't erase you. Our grandparents don't exist? No, they do. My grandma is there with her collection of words of wisdom and grandpa is with his wine collection. And that's it? No. There's also me being little, big, in love, sleepless, asleep. A shadow of blue eyes and a lot of music. A night at seaside. Some dried tears. Fragrance of the queen of the night. How much does the ticket cost? It's cheap. A smile. And where is it anyway? Exactly here, in these four chambers from under my ribs, mother.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
