So this is how God looks: dark-haired, green-eyed, divine body, obviously, sculpted by Michelangelo at his best. What about 'in your image and likeness', God? I think to myself while looking in the mirror. I'm floating here on my little cloud and I can't get my eyes off him. I've been an atheist for as long as I can remember, but paradise has been revealed to me today. HE came closer to me and my heart skipped a bit, I can hardly breathe. I thought I was dead, what the heck? Then God spoke to me: come on, twenty more crunches. Just what I needed, a personal trainer.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
