He was eating slowly, chewing every bite with his left teeth and was swallowing with great attempts at avoiding the taste buds. For us, this process would seem really hard, but for him it became a reflex, after so many years of marriage. He loved her without a reason, how you're supposed to love, even if you can find endless causes and reasons. Her cooking on the other side, could even have been a reason for divorce back in the day, however, she was cooking, which was above his power anyway.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
