Mrs. C didn't know how to cook but the pandemic started. Her first orach spinach soup, her first broccoli cream soup, her first fried chicken drumsticks, they all turned up to be so tasty that her husband only wanted her in the kitchen. One day they woke up with a fancier craving and decided to haunt a pheasant in the Văcăreşti Delta. They never came back, the quarantine ended, same thing happened to the love. The only thing left were their statements that they are both going to the hypermarket.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
