At the first date we ate sushi. At the second, I made her shakshuka, some sort of vegetable stew with hummus. Before she told me she loved me for the first time, I was biting into a burger. The first serious fight started because of some pasta. When we started travelling, we tried tagine with lamb and snails. When I asked her to marry me, she almost choked on a sausage. On our honeymoon, we devoured seafood. Ever since we came back from holiday, a week ago to be precise, we have been eating pate.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
