On that day, I tied my hair with the kerchief with red flowers. I was damn beautiful and a hell of a girl, as aunt Ioana used to say, God rest her soul. It was as if I knew I was about to meet him. He had never been to a hora before. Yup, they all moved to the city. Apparently, there were no horas over there like the ones back here. Whatever, what I want to tell you is that when he saw me, because no one else was more beautiful than I was, I tell you, his jaw dropped to the floor. He still hasn't recovered. Me? Eh, I acted as if I didn't see him. What? Did you think I was stupid or something?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
