Vama Veche smells like freedom. It smells of rock and festival, of fried mussels in a rancid oil bath, of exhaust fumes from engines. In Vama Veche you can hear rock here, trap there and the most beautiful one is heard on the main street or directly on the sand, folk music. Campfire, the voice of the sea, the sound of guitar, alcohol and the person you love or, the love of a summer. Vama Veche is beautiful, full and empty. With rockers and shoemakers. It's the freedom at the end of the country. Man, how old is Vama Veche?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
