Good day, Father. Rodica sent me here to confess my sins, she says it's good to do so. It is good, my son. But let me ask you something first. Ask, my son. Father, do I have to confess my lies? You have to, my son. And from how far back should I start? From your last confession, my son. A-ha, so back from when I was little. And I have to confess my impure deeds? That too. Even if they were just thoughts? Even if. Well, that settles it for me, Father. I can well see that you're very busy at the moment, said Costeluș, looking about the empty church. I'll pay you a visit once your schedule's cleared up a bit.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
