Who the hack did you think you were to do such a stupid thing? How did that mind come to you? How did you think you were going to succeed? You, who have nothing in your brain, could you imagine you would have that luck? That fate will be in your favor? Boy, you're incredible! Talent? Maybe a lot of nerve. I've never seen such a stupid thing. Oh, oh, and now you're stuttering. You're looking at yourself in the mirror and you're stuttering. How could you imagine you would be an actor? You'd better be a cowboy.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
