The nocturnal phone. Do you know Mr. Ene? Yes. Are you related? Yes. I have a bad news: Mr. Ene was found dead in a hostel in Vama Veche. Impossible, Bogdan is in a business trip in Timișoara: are you sure that he is the one? Absolutely. I have here his ID. How did he die? It seem that both of them overdosed. Both? Yes, Mr. Ene died along with his wife. Impossible. I am his wife. After this apocalyptic piece of news I threw all his clothes into the trash can. But first I have peed on them.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
