They were all dead. They decided to sell the house. They climbed into the attic. There was a lot of dust. There were a lot of old clothes, big and small boxes. They found books in several boxes, in one they found grandma's wedding dress. In another one there were a lot of plates. Another was full of Envelopes. Of various colors. They opened the first Envelope: I miss you, I still feel your kisses on my skin. It was a beautiful, round, handwriting, it was Grandma's handwriting, she sent them a letter to the city every week to tell them about the house. They closed the box.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
