What's poppin', my mortals? said God, sucking at his tooth, where he had a piece of Azymes or meat stuck, probably from one of the burnt offerings. After he had thrown it at the foot of the throne, he continued his discourse with a heavenly tone, somewhat fatherly, scolding the idiots: Why in the Hell, God forgive me, I mean Me forgiving Myself, I'm talking nonsense, why do you interpret it differently that what the Word says? The people started to talk: But us, God, you know. Shut it, I don't want to hear it. Verbum a Dio, so keep it quiet.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
