1, 2, 3. Microphone testing. Can you all hear us? All the way to the back over there, to the little boy with messy hair, who played President? Can the little dark-haired one, who is throwing paper rockets left and right, hear me too? There is the great fair-haired too. Do you really think I didn't see you playing with that golf club under the table? Lovely judoka, get over yourself, I'm really not impressed by your iron eyes. That's it. Mock-ups are over. The real exams are soon to happen. You'll be having them with a colleague of mine. I'm off. Masks off. Oh, no, not the ones you wear on your faces.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
