I once had guests and we were lying on the couch in the living room. At night, my sister whispered: do you see the wild boar? Where? Under the small servant's desk. That's how it was. Red-eyed, it stared at us. Let's crawl slowly, she decided, being older. In the hall, with the beast on our heels, we woke the whole house. My mother wanted to see it too, but when she lit the lamp, the boar jumped out through the wall. About three years later, one day, the room also jumped out through the wall, and in its place was an ordinary living room with two servants, a closed sofa and no children.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
