I don't like the cracked open doors, boy. I like clear situations: White or black, plus or minus, open or closed. What's that half-open? Shall I contribute with my neurons? Maybe it's closed and, as an educated person, I shall not come in? Or is it open and I shall burst into it like a fool? Half-open you say. I mean, Ana, dawn is spilling, let me but not let me." What's this crazy thing? Is it not right to say good evening, my love, I waited for you as if only our love were on earth?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
