Every Zoo had special chambers for the ones like him. They even made some in his town. When they first called him in, he didn't know what to believe. Although there were signs: they were yelling at him on the street to wag his tail, asking him if instead of getting goosebumps, he got pigbumps. He had become an existential jester in their eyes, when the stroke sliced his chest open and the pig heart drove away death. Today, at the Zoo, they were asking him to behave himself in his glass chamber, while they were selling tickets. They were dreaming of having the goose lady join him. Their cash register and Instagram would boom.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
