She was stuck in that stupid relationship, which only existed out of inertia, she didn't know it existed otherwise, she didn't have eyes to see beyond the horse glasses of fear, let alone see that eyes bluer than the sea at Cape Aurora were watching just her. In fact, she had seen them, they annoyed her terribly, she was not allowed to hope for their clear waters. But when they appeared in a morning brain, with a rose in their teeth, in a deserted reception she knew that their blue would guard her heart forever.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
