Three carpenters, Joseph, Iosif and Youssef, had build a pub named 3 Coffins. You left stiff, but came back with the same joy with which you left, plastered, for they took care to hit the last nail for you. When they got old, they each whipped themselves up a coffin in the front yard, at which they had their morning glass of eau-de-vie and made bets on which one of them would end up stiff as a board. For two of them, their time came at once, and the atheist honored each of them according to their religion, letting himself at the mercy of Fate's whims.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
