As soon as he saw her, he called her Precious. And fell in love. He spoke to her for only one night. He was able to hear her voice, it was like a sigh to his declarations, through the wall separating them. In the morning he saw her again. She was breathtaking. Blinded by admiration, he didn't see the knife that was about to sever the soft neck of the one that was brought by granny Vera from Tulcea and who invaded his world and being, currently bound by her legs in a raffia bag. The culinary feast that followed turned his stomach. I hope you choke on this duck meat, you murderers.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
