I was studying till late in the night for the admission exam for the Electronics university, because I was part of the great generation born in communism and I was wrestling with the geometric locus. One time, late at night, I couldn't by any means find the solution to a complicated exercise, fit for a math contest. I went to bed, I slept profoundly and then I dreamed the solution. I woke up, I wrote down the solution then fell back asleep. The next day, I solved the exercise. That exercise solved the equation of my future, my career and my life.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
