Love me, Father, the priestess pleaded. Father Agheasmie gasped. He took her in his arms and turned her to face him. In the darkness outside it began to rain heavily. I have to close the window or the rain will come in and wet my carpet, the woman said, getting up. His Holiness swore. He twisted and reached under the bed. He pulled out the vodka bottle and took a swig. The priestess closed the window and looked out. Let's go to bed, the randy priest called to her. She waved him off. I think it's raining inside the house.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
