I kept making mistakes and he kept forgiving me. I would tell him I was flawed, and he would promise me with his perfect simple that I would be more than perfect. I was weighing down his kindness with my problems, but he kept believing in Us. It scared me how naturally he would tell me that I had always been his. It was our first Christmas together and it smelled like a Christmas tree. We gave ourselves to each other and our hearts started beating as one. That night I stripped away my sins and swore eternal love to the man who had brought back the sparkle in my eyes.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
