It is said that we have 30-50,000 thoughts in a day. That scares me, Doctor, and I think it would be better to commit suicide. I'll put a bullet in my head to make sure all the 42,021 thoughts that I'm bound to have daily will fly away. I don't know why I don't do it. We both, me and you, are getting rid of me. No, you don't want to get rid of me, you get a dollar for every thought of mine, and you have a hundred days left to make those eight million you lost by playing Russian roulette.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2021, the group has 3.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
