When his shadow hits the tree, Amur is surprised. He makes a hoarse sound, but no one responds. The deer is still moaning at his feet, so he rips out its tongue. The forest remains silent. Time stays crushed between their chests, where only one heart beats still. Only when the sun melts into the clouds, Amur grabs his prey by its throat and climbs on the high branches of the tree. Swarms of dark stains bite out of him and he gets smaller and smaller. Because of too much darkness, Amur daydreams that he is not the last.

Today was silence. No wedding in the village, not even a lost child at the end of the field. Even the trains passed quietly through the train station that is about to break down. With all that silence, the day had hardly passed. Out of the boredom, I began counting. I counted until 634.567. During the night I watched the stars, in the morning I was in the same position: a little inclined on the left, with whole flock of birds spread in all four cardinal points. They go, I am staying. I and the endless stretch, beyond the railway.
