Anger is placed in a corner of the room with its snout on its paws, slightly scratching the floor with its claws. From time to time it growls lightly, turns his head, and looks at me with his eyes half closed, half open like two black holes through which light is afraid to penetrate. I tried to go out and talk to other people, tell them about my day, and ask them about theirs. But every time Anger finds me, bites me lightly on the back of the head and carries me back to our room where we are safe.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
